HOW CAN SECOND CAREER HELP ME?

If you’ve been recently laid-off, the provincial government’s Second Career program can help you
1.) find out what careers are in high demand in the current job market
2.) learn about careers that will further promote growth
3.) train for a new career.

The Second Career Program is that opportunity to get the training you’ve always wanted – “an opportunity to have a career, not just a job.” If you qualify, up to $28,000 is available in financial help to pay for tuition, transportation, books, living expenses, help caring for dependents, etc.

WHERE DO I START?

Applying to Second Careers starts with a visit to an Employment Ontario assessment center. Depending on your interests and previous experience, a Second Career counselor will help you determine what jobs are currently in high demand and what you can do to pursue such jobs. Please visit http://www.edu.go v.on.ca/eng/tcu/secondcareer/where.html to find an Employment Ontario assessment centre near you.
